2016 Glam

Working with the beautiful Sophia Tatum last month in LA: I was inspired by the shape and color of her eyes, making it the focus of the look. Here's some of the key products I used to create it...

∙ABH // single shadows caramel, sienna, red earth, noir
∙MAC // pigment tan
∙INGLOT // gel liner 77

I wanted her eyes to be the main focus for this look. I started by buffing matte ABH shadows in her crease, transitioning from the lightest shade to the darkest. So I started with caramel and ended with noir. Using multiple shades can help assure you get a seamless blend. I then wet my brush with MAC fix + and packed the pigment on her lid keeping the connection with her crease very clean and neat. I buffed all four ABH shadows on her lower lash line in the same order as the crease. It has the same effect. I added a little becca champagne pop to highlight her tear duct and finished the look using inglot gel liner + a MAC 210 brush on her lash line and waterline, followed with lots of mascara.

∙ELCIE // micro silque foundation
∙KEVYN AUCOIN // sensual skin enhancer
∙BECCA // shimmering skin perfecter champagne pop
∙MAC // fix +

After prepping her skin and applying elcie micro silque foundation, I used a MAC 288 brush to apply kevyn aucoin's skin enhancer under her eyes in an upside down triangular shape. I love this product to do anything from subtly highlight to fully conceal. I used a damp beauty blender to blend outward towards the temples. I warmed up her face with matte bronzer, added a generous amount of champagne pop to highlight her cheekbones and finished with MAC fix +.

∙COLOURED RAINE // matte lip paint sugar

To finish the look, I went with this matte nude with a pink undertone. I thought the pink hue would really complement her eye color.

Lord Of Misrule

It's almost Halloween, which means Lush brought back my favorite seasonal scent. Not only in a bath bomb, but a new shower cream too. Lord Of Misrule is made with patchouli oil, black pepper oil and fair trade vanilla absolute, making it's fragrance super earthy and spicy with just the right amount of sweetness. If you're into unique scents, you'll love this.

LUSH Goodies Pt. 2

I've been trying a lot of new product and have so much I want to share. Taking good care of my skin is soo important to me considering it's the largest organ in the body. These are just a few things I haven't stopped using since I bought them nearly 2 months ago. Hope you get a chance to try them out!

Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds ∙ my favorite bubble bar. smells soooo so good (it's the patchouli oil) and makes the water light blue with big velvety bubbles. you can split it in half and use it twice.
Honey Bee Bath Bomb ∙ smells like toffee. made with honey to soften and moisturize the skin while orange oil tones. feels like you're bathing in silk.
Celestial ∙ made for sensitive skin. great as a night cream when you're skins feeling dry or irritated. smells like vanilla and cocoa butter. softens the skin while you sleep.
Tea Tree Water ∙ absorbs excess oil without drying out my skin. I like to spray it directly on to my face and let it dry on its own so it tightens my pores.
Sympathy For The Skin ∙ best body lotion ever. made with mashed bananas, vanilla extract, lemon oil and sandalwood. it smells soft and sweet and leaves my skin feeling like butter.

Shout out to my girl Jessie at Lush St. Louis Galleria. She gets me right every time! Stop in and see her, she'll give you a comfortable, chill experience. You'll love her!

What's in my beauty bag?

beautybag

You can always find lip balm, perfume and hand cream in my handbag. I don't usually carry makeup with me because I hate touching up. Once my makeup is on, I prefer to be done with it for the day. These specific items are what happened to be in my handbag and in the zipper pouch of my work backpack. From right to left  F.A.B. Ultra Repair Cream, with washing my hands so many times a day this keeps my hands baby soft. It's unscented & doesn't leave a residue. It's also a great body cream. Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash & Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, I like to keep travel size mascaras in my work backpack. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black, this is a pretty masculine/warm scent. It smells good mixed with other fragrances or on it's own. My favorites to mix it with are Nirvana White and Prada Candy. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, my favorite fragrance, I keep the rollerball in my handbag at all times. Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Lychee, a hydrating lip balm in a perfect sheer pink-nude shade. Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip in 2C, matches most neutral lip colors and stays on all day. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh, another perfume. If you haven't noticed, I like to smell good. Lastly, LUSH Honey Trap lip balm, which is a classic.

LUSH Goodies

While stopping in at Lush last month for my usual bath bombs, I picked up a few other goodies that I've been wanting to try. Needless to say they quickly became favorites. I never hesitate when buying at Lush for many reasons, simply stated here

SOFT COEUR massage bar :: cocoa butter, honey & chocolate. It's as good as it sounds. A bar of buttery soft lotion that warms up to the skin making it perfect to use on your partner to soothe achey muscles, or even on yourself as a solid lotion.
IMPERIALIS moisturizer :: a brightening and softening moisturizer, literally good for any and every skin type. Known for balancing out oily skin while nourishing dry skin. Use day or night to replenish and calm.
GREASE LIGHTENING tea tree cleanser :: ingredients like thyme, tea tree, rosemary, aloe & seaweed make this treatment effective yet gentle. I usually use this once or twice a week before going to bed when I notice any breakouts. I like to apply to my entire face before applying a moisturizer, but you can use it as a spot treatment as well. I find that the day after I sleep with it on, my oily skin is a little more controlled.
AROMACO deodorant :: why do other deodorant brands even exist when there's THIS? Made with patchouli oil it smells very soft and earthy, which I personally love. I'm not the biggest fan of smelling like baby powder or artificial vanilla, & it doesn't take away from or over power your perfume. Not to mention it's all natural, making it the main reason I purchased it!
